GOAT SACRIFICE STOPPED AT ISLAMPUR’S PS KALI PUJA

Webdesk, TNI Islampur, 30th October, 2016: In one of the major decisions of ending superstitions in Kalipuja, today Islampur Police station stopped animal sacrifice in the ritual. The decision of stopping of the traditional superstition was done by the IC of the police station Mr. Sukumar Ghosh. In a trailing process, he also ordered to stop the animal sacrifice in the nearest Ramganj Police Station Kalipuja too. Mr. Ghosh has given a proposal to stop this brutal practice in a holy event of Kalipuja. He also said that it’s the responsibility of the police to stop the cruelty to animals before they enforce Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act. The decision was supported by the IC of Ramganj Police outpost Mr. Rezaul Karim. The decision has received accolades from all sections of the society at Islampur. Mr. Ghosh even said if the practice is not stopped he would rather withdraw his name from the puja volition list.
